Family Project

Cora's class focused on transportation this week at school --- she had a family project assignment to make a mode of transportation out of recycled goods from around the house. After much discussion and research, we decided to make a seaplane. We used an orange juice box and toilet paper rolls, covered with tin foil and baby food container tops as propellers. Cora did MOST of the work :)

Firefighter Jason visited school today and the girls were mighty proud to show off their new hats

I can vividly remember Cora saying "my try" to everything starting around age 2... it appears as if Emi has the same determination and stubbornness starting even earlier. She only started doing stairs a few weeks ago, but clearly the ladder is just as tackle-able! SIGH --- I see many bumps and bruises in our future!

After all the rain we had, cleaning up sticks is a weekly chore. Cora's made it a personal mission to find the biggest ones possible and move them across the yard all by herself.

What a way to spend a Sunday afternoon... the girls were eager to put on their rain boots and search for a puddle or two. Cora was a great mentor to lil sis on the best form for success.

Back home and back into the swing of things...

What a great vacation! We truly enjoyed our time visiting so many relatives and spending time on the beach in perfect weather :)  SOMEHOW we failed to take any pictures at Uncle Bob and Aunt Lynn's (we were too busy enjoying the GREAT food and drink, oops!) - but we had a fabulous time, as always. 

Now we're back home and back to school and fighting off the early fall sniffles...
