Oba and Cora went to a Detroit Symphony Orchestra concert this morning… Cora sat quietly through it and apparently was in awe of the violins. She's looking forward to resuming her lessons this fall!

And over to Michigan...

After our visit to New Jersey, Greg flew back to TN to return to work and we ladies drove over to Michigan to visit with more family… Once again, they were wonderful passengers and the 9 hour trip went by pretty quickly!

This visit was pretty laid back. The weather was quite cool and we really just enjoying hanging out with Oba, Sofu, GG Callihan and some friends.

Nana and Duke took us to see Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty today. It was a very nice day and we really enjoyed the scenery!

Sadly, GG Madea passed away on Wednesday July 9th. We packed up the car and headed to New Jersey to celebrate her life with family and friends. This was a welcome sight in our rear-view mirror.

A visit from Jill, Jeremy and Chance

We were so excited for a visit from Pennsylvania (and grad school) friends Jill and her family. She's managed to visit wherever we live and it's been since Emi was a baby that we last saw them. The weather was hot, of course, but we managed to get a visit to the splash park and some good BBQ in.

We spent the rest of the weekend relaxing… which meant lots of time at the pool. Cora and Emi (and even Louisa) have come a long way and are so brave in the water. Of course they had a ton of fun getting thrown around by daddy!
