Stats, etc

Louisa is 19.2 lb and 27 inches at 6 months, both at 90th percentile and on track to be a TALL girl...
In other news, hand-foot-mouth disease has already come home from preschool and so far Emi and Louisa have suffered (and possibly Greg) -- here's to building immune systems!
Emi has decided baby Louisa needs to wear her princess shoes

Happy 6 months, Louisa!

I know I sound like a broken record when I lament how time flies, but really it does... Lou is doing well and trying to help me type this actually. She's so close to crawling, yikes! She's cooing lots and laughing and very eager to engage with anyone around. I don't know her current "stats" as her check up is on Monday, but I can tell you she is an armful!!!
 Keeping those beautiful blue eyes?
Following in daddy's footsteps drumming :)

SEGA!!!

Last night at dinner, Emi was asking to do gymnastics. Unfortunately nothing starts organized til age 3 around here, but we were able to go to "preschool open gym" today. It was Emi's first time to participate and she had a BALL. Cora enjoyed practicing and playing.
Trampolines are always Cora's favorite -- nice action shot! Emi can't quite coordinate jumping yet. It was pretty cute to observe!

Foam pit/pool looked like a ton of fun.... too bad it's only for kids ;)

Happy Sunday!

We returned from church this morning to find a box of donuts from the "donut fairy" -- what a nice surprise (what fabulous neighbors...)

Silly princess ballerinas

How to spend a lazy Saturday morning... dressing up in tutus, crowns, wands and plastic high heel shoes (I can't believe we have 3 girls!!!)

School, for "real"

Full time has begun! The girls seem to LOVE their new classes and teachers. Emi's graduated to a "big kids" classroom that takes part in music class and chapel with the others and Cora still has Spanish class once weekly.
 Outside school
Special back-to-school treat -- homemade chocolate chip cookie cake (this tradition I'm carrying on from my childhood --- we always got this special treat on the first and last days of school growing up)

Personality coming through

Nearing 6 months, Louisa is starting to really show off her personality. She loves to smile and coo and she's pretty interested in EVERYTHING around her :) We're so happy she's able to sit in the entertainer - she'll be moving in no time!

Hanging out with Cora watching some tube
With Sophie, her new best friend... definitely starting to teethe (yikes!)

Back at the splash park

What a great way to spend our last Friday before school's back into swing... perfect weather and good friends around! Cora's in pink suit, Liam in green and Mackenzie in aqua.

Mmmmmm watermelon!

Pictures to show future boyfriends

Emilia is definitely our little ham, when we get her to acknowledge the camera...

Changing beds

The time has finally come to graduate Emi to a big-girl bed, which means Louisa will be able to take over the crib (she's severely out-grown her pack-in-play)! We got Emi a tempurpedic mattress and are searching for a unique antique bed akin to Cora's...
Emi proudly shows off her bed

Louisa all smiles in her roomy bed

Back to school!

YAAAAAAAY! We are all happy for the start of the school year :) Cora and Emi proudly marched into their rooms and introduced themselves, no tears to be had.  This year they are going M-W-F from 9:30 til 2:30. The report at the end of today? Cora is a VERY good lunch eater and Emi SURE likes to talk!

Had to put this picture in for comparison (from first day of school last year)... we can't believe how much both girls have grown!

Progress?

Gymnastics has ended for summer session and it culminated with a "show off" session as follows...

Beam
Vault
Cora's developed a lot of core muscle strength,
increased her stamina and has improved a lot in balance and coordination... Most of all, she's having a ball, which is most important :)
