Sweet and Sassy

Yes that's the name of the girl salon/spa where Cora and Emi got their haircuts today. It was Emi's first "official cut" and she did great :) Cora did great, too. They had fun (who wouldn't with sparkle face paint, temporary tattoos, hair glitter and perfume AND lollipops?!?)

Emi liked the gourmet lollipop the best, I think
Cora enjoyed the hair glitter and cotton candy scent, as well.

Looky, looky

Who knew getting a 6 month old to open her mouth and get her tongue out of the way would be so challenging?!?!

Lou might be wearing more than she swallowed, but she still had some :)

Violin

We are super excited to share that Cora has begun violin lessons! Her preschool is offering Suzuki Violin training which focuses on teaching very young children how to play music by listening before reading music. She's only had one lesson and her reaction was very positive, so we are excited to see where this may lead...
Notice she's not using a real violin yet; it's a "pretend" violin made out of a box and dowel and the purpose is to get her familiar and comfortable with placement of hands and technique.

Big, sharp news!

At just 6 months, Louisa has cut her two bottom front teeth!
She's seemed to be teething forever, so we're happy some have erupted. Best news? She's on track for getting her "two front teeth for Christmas!"

Weeeeeee!

Cora's a natural in the air! She was so brave and had so much fun flying over the foam pit at Wilder's birthday party today. She can't wait to go back (we go here for "preschool open gym" once in awhile)!

Labor Day weekend

We got back to Georgia for a nice, relaxing Labor Day weekend. It's a shame we don't do it more often, because it's just 6 hours (well, a bit longer with stops for the kids) and there's lots of fun to be had. Of course Nana and Duke are great hosts and a break from cooking is always enjoyed! The girls love playing with "Nana and Duke's toys" and especially Molly and Li. We had beautiful weather, but didn't manage to get out on the boat. We DID, however, spend lots of time at the pool and it was great! We also drove up to North Carolina for some furniture shopping, but came back empty-handed (oh well).
