The joy of Oreos

I often forget how wonderful new experiences can be... tonight I got to witness Cora having her first Oreo cookie with Greg. He was a great teacher about the many ways to eat an Oreo and she was an attentive student. I think we have another Oreo lover in the family :)

OHHH Louisa!

So this morning I was busy doing some housework when I heard a loud thump from the dining room. I had left Louisa in front of Sesame Street in the den (which is next to the dining room) and she backed herself into the dining room and up against the wine canoe, reached back and pulled out not one, but two bottles of wine. One landed on the floor and the other in her lap in perfect position to teeth upon. Sigh!

I fear for our future with this one! 

Cooking up some fun

We take turns making play-doh for preschool and October is our turn. Who knew it was so simple to make this great stuff? Cora loved helping out and was a pretty good assistant. 

 Step one: mix flour, salt, cream of tartar, oil, water

Step two: add food coloring 

 Step three: add MORE food coloring

 Step four: add even MORE food coloring

 Step five: cook and stir over medium heat

Voila! Our finished product :) 

Fun new "toy"

I never thought I'd get excited over yard equipment, but I AM! Last year we bagged close to 20 large garbage bags of leaves a week. It certainly provided a good sense of accomplishment and a pretty good work-out, but it was defeating to see new leaves pile up so quickly. Not to mention our sore backs... SO we got a "leaf hog"  and I got to "play" today --- what fun! It mulches as it collects and is so much faster than the "old fashioned way!"

Starting young

Louisa is very interested in everything... she even tries to help Greg play Words with Friends :)

I think we better invest in an Otterbox for this iPad!

Happy 7 months, Louisa!

Lou's babbling and laughing and sitting up well. She's also scooting a bit on the ground, getting coordinated to start crawling soon, we fear! She's eating oatmeal daily, though isn't too thrilled with it -- we'll have to add some variety soon. So far 2 teeth have come out and an upper one is on it's way.
