Why we are really here...

Becky's here giving lectures to the Japanese Animal Hospital Association (JAHA), the same group for whom she lectured 12 years ago. It's essentially Critical Care Medicine CE's for veterinarians here. Most in Japan do not specialize, but they do run emergency clinics, so their rely heavily upon foreign education via these talks.

Kampai! Perhaps my favorite part of this (aside from the free trip to Japan, of course) are the post-lecture celebrations full of countless dishes of Japanese yummies and Bieru!

Happiest Birthday, Louisa!

It's hard to believe our littlest girl is now 2 years old! She brings such joy to our family and is a unique spirit... we love you LouLou!!!

Back to work...

Well, it took some time, but I'm back to work! I'm thrilled to have found a Nurse-Midwifery practice with the University of Tennessee here in Memphis. I'll be working as a Certified Nurse Midwife 4 days a week. It's been close to 5 years since practicing, I sure hope it's like riding a bike!

Formerly known as "the Med," the hospital with which I am affiliated is now known as Regional One Medical Center. This hospital is the modern one at which my grandfather-in-law (whom I never got to meet) did his medical residency training and where he met his wife (whom I also never got to meet). This is special and I find myself thinking about them when I wander the long halls!
