Happy Halloween!

The day begins...
in cool skeleton jammies
The girls' school outfits (Cora had her face painted at school during their party today)
 Our little chicken pre-trick-or-treating

The wagon (via Greg) moved us around the neighborhood, filling our loot bags in excess. These girls are GOOD trick-or-treaters, Emi walked away with at least double the candy from every house (it was almost embarrassing)! Needlesstosay, the girls went to sleep so easily tonight :)

Yay, Daddy's home!

Well, it was a heck of a trip back from Europe, but he's home and we're all sooo happy!

Halloween begins!

We sure missed Daddy being home today!
We had 2 parties to attend and an extra set of adult hands would have been SO helpful. The first party was for the playgroup we attend at a local park. We had a great lunch, but froze in 46 degree weather and lots of wind. After a nap, we refreshed and headed out to "Trunk or Treat" at our church/preschool. The weather had warmed and we were all in much better spirits...
Our little cowgirls bundled in LAYERS (not sure where their hats are...)

the "scene" of trunks from which we treated
 Emi takes a cupcake break
 Cora plays some games
 and picks her candy...
flying airplane ride -- couldn't get enough!
but Emi only wanted to watch...

What the?

While we were playing outside and feeding the fish in our pond, we heard a very loud growling noise... only to look up and see this hot air balloon directly over our house! It was a bit scary as they were so low and our trees are so tall. From the frantic voices of the pilots, it obviously was a mistaken path. Thankfully they were able to ascend once the passed us!

this is our yard from our driveway/garage looking out

Emi somewhat amused, but more proud of driving sissy's big wheel

October's family project

This month's family project for Cora's class was to decorate the pumpkin she picked at the pumpkin patch. We decided since daddy's away, we'd make our pumpkin as girly as we could... and we had fun! We collected brown curly leaves from the backyard to serve as her hair and popped acorns out of their caps to become eyes. Then we painted on her lips with nail polish, added some fake eyelashes from the dollar store and bedazzled her with purple gemstone earrings and a necklace. Finally, we used one of Emi's hair bow/headband to hold it all in place. We think she looks fabulous!
